The 200km of local paths and tracks are perfect for walking, hiking or mountain biking (for mountain bike and helmet hire we highly recommend Neige-Aventure.)

Haute Nendaz in Summer

One usually associates Alpine resorts simply with winter sports and skiing. Haute Nendaz is a thriving small town which is totally transformed during the summer months.

The Nendaz plateau enjoys an excellent sunshine record and while temperatures can reach 30C in high summer, the climate is tempered by the altitude and cooling mountain breezes.

Street markets are held in the town centre most Wednesdays selling a variety of local produce and products from hand-made organic soap to the finest herbs & spices to locally woven baskets to wonderful cheeses. There is usually a spit-roast on the go most market days and portable bread ovens too! The road from the roundabout to Le Cret is shut to traffic enabling everyone to wander around safely.

July and August are the months for local festivals. Alpenhorn, hand bells, brass bands, accordions often playing simultaneously! The Sports Centre fields sprout marquees and stages to host these events, including the Bier Festival which is held in August. At dusk the dancing starts and traditional Waltzes are the order of the day for all ages. Details of these annual events can be obtained at the Tourist Office.
